My name is Lesedi Nkwe. I am a student at the University of Cape Town studying my second year of Economics and Law. My aspiration in life is to become a high-impact entrepreneurial leader.

Last week, as a result of a proposal I made regarding THE CAPE TOWN INSIDER, I was granted the opportunity to go to India by Startup Safari as a step forward in achieving my dream of implementing an outreach initiative I started called THE LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT.

This project seeks to distribute winter care packages and most importantly, to fire-proof homes in Cape Town townships like Khayelitsha, where I tutor high school learners, so that an African home does not have to be a dark one. This project speaks to dignity for my people and I hope I can inspire young people to pursue their dreams and give back to the communities from which they stem.
